How safe is COMF?

COMF is a safe place to meet and connect with other singles on-line. No personal details other than your first name and location are disclosed. The good thing about COMF is that you are in control of how much information you give out.  Who uses this site?

Anyone who is single or has a single friend can sign up. The only age restriction is you have to be 18 years or older. Any sexual preferences are welcome here.

On the home page where you log in there is a link to ‘forgotten password’. Click this & we’ll reset your password and e-mail it to you.

What should I write about my single mate? – Profile help

Remember to be honest! Your role as wingman is not only to talk-up your friend’s best traits, but also to portray a realistic picture – remember no one is perfect! Keep it light-hearted. Any funny insights into your friend’s character is what you’re trying to get across. It’s not meant to be a novel, – just an enlightening synopsis of your friend to provoke interest without the cliches! You could also talk about:

• your friend’s best characteristics
• what you’ll find them doing in their spare time
• any funny idiosyncrasies/stories
• their ideal guy/woman

Can I have a single profile and act as a wingman for another single friend?

Yes! If you already have a single profile, under Friends in your Homepage you can add another single friend.

If you want to write an additional description for a live member then send them a friend request from the Friendsarea in your Homepage. Once they’ve confirmed your friends (a bit like Facebook) then you can you will be able to suggest dates, add profile comments and photo’s for them if they’re single, or let them do the same for you if you’re the single one.

If you’re a wingman you can add a single friend under Friends area in your Homepage

In my ‘Homepage’ what do the different icons mean, and how do I work them?

Single’s Homepage

• Messages - here you can keep track of your messages, send messages, etc
• My Profile – this is where you can edit your profile, change/add your reply to your wingman, change your search criteria, edit and manage photos.
• Friends suggestions - is where your wingman has recommended any potential dates for you. After all they know you best!
• Favourites - this is similar to our old ‘winks’. It’s the first step to letting someone know you might be keen to take it further. When you add a member to your favourites they will get notification that you’ve done this.
•  Friends- this is where you can keep tabs on your wingman, and any other single friends that you may have
•  Account – change your contact details and password

Wingman’s Homepage

• Suggestions – here you can search for potential dates for your single friend. Matchmake away!
• Friends – here you can add more single friends, and edit your comments on existing friends. You can also sign up as a single here as well
• Account – here you can change your contact details and password

Can I block a member from my searches?

Yes, when you’re searching through profiles just hit the ‘block’ icon. These will then be stored in your Homepage under ‘My profile’ so you can manage them.

What if I feel uncomfortable or threatened by another member?

Please report them immediately to us! We take this VERY seriously and will keep all communications in the strictest confidence. Email us at admin@checkoutmyfriend.co.nz if there are any problems at all and we’ll be right onto it.

How can I suspend/cancel my profile?

To remove your profile from being displayed, head to My Profile and change your status

To cancel your profile permanently please e-mail us at admin@checkoutmyfriend.co.nz & put ‘delete profile’ in the subject line.

Can my profile be put up without my permission?

No way – that would not be the go! Your profile needs your permission before it goes live on the site. You also get the chance to respond to your friends words. If you are not happy with the comments your friend has made, ask them to change the description by logging in and changing it from their end.

We review all content (including photos) so if we suspect anything dodgy then we will follow it up quick smart.

How do I contact the COMF team?

For any admin or Press queries please contact admin@checkoutmyfriend.co.nz. To report any abuse, please hit the report button on the member in questions profile, or email us at the above address. Any comments about another member is kept is the strictest confidence.

How do I change my password?

You log in using your email address that you signed up with. You can change your password in your Homepage under Account

What do you do with my personal details?

Your personal details are secure on our database and are kept completely confidential. We may however use your details to help refine any future advertising on the site. By doing this it helps us ensure that any advertising is relevant to you and hopefully worth looking at!

How do I edit a profile?

Only a wingman can edit the profile description. A wingman can edit their comments about a single friend under the Friends section of their Homepage. Click on the friend and there is an option to edit.

Does the single person get a say as well?

Absolutely! If you’re single head to My profilethere is an option to ‘read and respond to your wingman’s comments’ . This where you can add anything you think your friend may have missed. e.g. The type of partner you’re after. Any likes and dislikes etc.
