Check Out My Friend has teamed up with Pacific Blue and Wotif.com has 2 x double weekends to Sydney on offer - yah!
This means we can set you up on a date in Sydney (don't worry you'll have your wingmen/wingwomen there with you as chaperones!
You can meet up with your date, have a cocktail, and if it works - fantastic. If not, noting to lose as you've still got a free weekend in Sydney with your mate!
All you need to do is sign up your fabulous single friend on the Check Out My Friend website, and enter on-line at More FM website Entries close 5pm Thursday 8th July, 2010.
Listen to Lee Plummer on More Fm between 7pm - Midnight (Sunday - Thursday) and she will choose the most creative and entertaining profiles written about their single mates. The winners will be announced on Lee's show.
Naturally the wingman will need to travel to Sydney as well to chaperone!
Good luck & have fun listening to Lee's show on More FM
Cheers,
The Crew at Check Out My Friend
If you’re reading this it’s probably because you’ve donned your wingman/woman stripes and want to put your friend’s best foot forward. Yes, of course you know all their fab qualities and funny little quirks – you wouldn’t be mates if you didn’t rate them yourself. So, now you need to write them a profile that screams PICK ME! PICK ME! Or maybe that sounds a little too desperate?! How about one that gives them a great shot at connecting with like-minded people? Bingo! Dating utopia! Plus you’ve just earned best friend status for life!!
How much do I spill?
In a perfect world, we would detail all facets of our friend's lives, including their unadulterated love for Mr Socks (a.k.a their precious puss or pooch). But the cold hard reality is LESS does in fact equal MORE. Dating can be fun, so let’s keep it light-hearted and enjoyable. Yes, you may know what their deal-breakers are (having discussed these on many occasions) and yes, we understand their values. That's what makes them a good bloke or gal. But part of the fun of getting to know someone new is discovering those things along the way. So no need for every tiny detail.
Interests – does gumboot throwing count?
The advice here is: keep it real. It's basic but true that painting an accurate picture of your mate is the best way to find someone whay're actually going to enjoy spending time with. For instance, don't write that they ‘Enjoy mountain biking’ if the said mountain bike has been ridden only once in the past two years and is currently collecting dust in the garage! Only mention things that your mate really does enjoy and you know they'd be happy to share.
Last but by no means least – say cheese:
Try and find a recent (and decent!) photo for their profile picture. So no, not the photo from that time at thingamajigs birthday bash where you all got hammered!
Guys, best photos are when you are smiling & with a shirt on (critical!) Make sure the photo is recent. If another member wants to meet you they need to recognise you, or your single mate, not Brad Pitt.
This person is your friend so be kind to them. Find or take a photo of them that makes them look presentable and you know they'll be happy to have on show.
